Hans served two tours in Vietnam and was later stationed in Germany before returning to the US. He and wife Jeri, founded Krügel Cobbles in 1982. Their entire first year of business was spent installing projects in the Tangley Oaks sub division of Lake Bluff. The hardscape elements offered at that time were limited to driveways, walkways and patios. He is looking forward to the 40th anniversary of Krügel Cobbles coming up in 2022. Many people don’t know that Hans is an avid world traveler.
Jon was raised in Lake Bluff and attended Wake Forest University. Graduating in 1994 with a BA in Psychology. He joined Krügel in 1995 after working in mental health care at a Psychiatric Hospital in Massachusetts. It was during this time that Jon learned to interact with people, how to be patient and most of all how to listen.
In his current role as President of Krügel Cobbles, Inc. he manages business operations and works with clients in a sales capacity. Jon loves to meet with clients and help them visualize and then create and install outdoor spaces that their families will love for years to come.
Jon lives by three philosophies: ‘Always give your best
effort’, ‘live life 24 hours at a time’, ‘wear life like a loose garment.’ He can often be found volunteering his
talents to organizations such as: Youth build Lake County, JDRF, Friends of
Lake Bluff Parks, Illinois Landscape Contractors, and Landscape Design
Association. You might also find him running, reading, coaching AYSO soccer and

With a background in Architecture and Photography from the University of Buenos Aires, and after over a decade of moving throughout Latin America and the US, Moira feels she is a citizen of the world. These changes increased her flexibility and capability to face almost any challenge. When she is not designing or submitting permits, Moira can be found biking with her partner in crime for the last 26 years, hiding behind a book or photographing the Chicagoland area that she has come to love. One thing few people know about Moira: She is a certified yoga teacher.
Yash came to the USA from India four years back with his Bachelors in Civil Engineering to pursue an advanced degree at Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago. His first work experiences were cutting the lawns of his neighbors and working on a farm in Antioch. Both of these jobs taught Matt the value of hard work and reliability. “What I enjoy about my job is the opportunity to build positive relationships with many different people. Heather is a native of the Buckeye State, transplanted in Illinois after graduating from The Ohio State University in 1984 with a BS in Merchandising. She also holds an MBA in Finance. Heather’s first job was at a Donut Shop during high school, where she learned not only how to fill the jelly donuts but also the value of team work. The best thing about working at Krügel Cobbles is the opportunities I am afforded to take on difficult tasks or problems, come up with creative solutions and work on these projects until quality results are achieved.
When not at Krügel Cobbles she will most likely be found hanging out with her husband and sons, at the gym, volunteering or working on a sewing project.
